Liverpool might just have a trick up their sleeve to beat PSG and Manchester United to the signature of … this summer. The highly-rated teenager is widely expected to leave the club over the coming weeks, just one year after joining them from Leganes. He has emerged as one of Europe’s hottest talents over the last 12 months and is attracting significant transfer interest.
Any successful move certainly won’t be cheap, though. The club are unwilling to consider any offers below the £112 million mark, according to The Athletic.
That said, Liverpool could find a way to drive down that asking price and secure his signature ahead of United and PSG.
The Reds could try and use Leipzig’s interest in Harvey Elliott to broker a part-exchange deal that would see him move in the other direction.
Elliott is widely expected to leave Anfield this summer following his nightmare loan spell at Aston Villa.
