Manchester United have been told Gary Neville is the man to “save” the club as their next manager.
Ruben Amorim is the sixth permanent boss at Old Trafford since Alex Ferguson’s departure in 2013 and he has been unable to spark a swift turnaround in the club’s fortunes.
Defeat to Brighton in their last Premier League match has left United 13th in the Premier League table, having lost 10 of their 22 league matches this season.
Amorim has labelled this side the worst in United’s history and it is a verdict that former Match of the Day host Des Lynam agrees with.
In his latest Telegraph column, Lynam made the shock suggestion that United should appoint Neville as their manager. The former right-back’s only previous managerial experience was an unsuccessful spell at Valencia.
