Barcelona willing to sacrifice two players to sign €75m Chelsea midfilder

The FC Barcelona midfield has undergone significant changes since the end of the last season. One of the most important midfielders of the last season, İlkay Gündoğan, left the Catalan club to rejoin Manchester City, while Oriol Romeu also rejoined his former side Girona last summer.

Hansi Flick started this season with Marc Bernal as the pivot, while Pedri and Raphinha also played in the midfield. However, Bernal’s long-term injury ruled him out for the rest of the season, and Marc Casado took advantage of this situation to establish himself as a fixed starter for Flick.

Similarly, Dani Olmo has also been a starter for the German tactician whenever fit and available. However, this midfield can see even more changes in the next summer transfer window, as Fichajes reports that the Catalans remain interested in signing the €75m-rated Chelsea midfielder, Enzo Fernandez.

Chelsea paid €120 million to sign the Argentine two years ago, and Barcelona will have to spend a significant amount of money to land him, which could be a major obstacle for the cash-strapped Barcelona. Similarly, Chelsea are also not too keen to part ways with such an important player.
