Jota killed after tire blowout causes crash

The football world woke up in shock this morning following the tragic news that Liverpool forward Diogo Jota has died in a car accident. Spanish police released official details of the crash, which occurred shortly after midnight.

According to the statement, Jota’s vehicle, a Lamborghini, veered off the road at high speed and caught fire. The cause of the accident was a tire blowout during an overtaking maneuver.

“Based on the information we have, the Lamborghini went off the road due to a tire blowout while overtaking. The vehicle immediately caught fire, and both passengers lost their lives at the scene,” the police report stated.

Jota, who was just 28 years old, was not alone in the vehicle. His brother André, a 25-year-old professional footballer playing in Portugal’s second division, also died in the crash.

The loss of one of Portugal’s brightest football talents and a beloved figure at Liverpool has left fans, teammates, and the footballing community in mourning.
