‘Winning the Ballon D’Or would be brilliant, and I believe I could get there’

Cole Palmer has set his sights on winning the Ballon d’Or and believes that “with hard work and consistency” he can get there. The Chelsea midfielder has already scored six goals this season, four of which came in a single half against Brighton, after scoring 22 last season in his impressive breakout last year at Stamford Bridge.

Cole Palmer has said he believes he can win the Ballon d’Or in his career, after being nominated for the 2024 award.

The 22-year-old had a breakout year at Chelsea in the 2023-24 Premier League season after joining from Manchester City to earn himself a spot among the world’s best.

He has already began to back up his nomination with four goals in a half for Chelsea against Brighton, and has added five assists so far as he looks to nail down a place in Thomas Tuchel’s England side.

“It was a surprise to be recognised at that level so early in my career,” Palmer said about his Ballon d’Or nomination. “It’s a huge honour. Winning it would be brilliant, and I believe with hard work and consistency I could get there.”
