Redknapp blasts England in furious rant over Thomas Tuchel appointment

Thomas Tuchel is set to be appointed as England’s new manager after the FA held advanced talks with the German on Tuesday, prompting an angry response from Harry Redknapp.

Harry Redknapp has expressed his disappointment with the FA’s decision to appoint a foreign manager for the England national team, naming German Thomas Tuchel as Gareth Southgate’s successor.

“It’s not like he’s been a massive success. He’s come and gone at a couple of clubs. I’m very patriotic, I think we should have an English manager but obviously the field was very small to choose from.”

Despite Redknapp’s doubts, Tuchel’s track recordincluding leading Chelsea to a Champions League victory and managing high-profile teams like Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munichdemonstrates his pedigree.
