Reece James has not been privy to interest from Spain in the past, as he was linked with a move to Real Madrid earlier in the year.
But the Englishman never really made the switch to Santiago Bernabeu, instead continuing at Chelsea as captain.
However, it appears fate may finally lead James to Spanish shores, as the player is considering a drastic career switch.
According to Football Transfers, Barcelona and SL Benfica have been approached by Reece James’ representative as the English defender considers an exit from Chelsea.
It appears the Englishman is looking to play in a much warmer climate to avoid a set of recurring muscle injuries, which has plagued his career at Chelsea.
The defender missed 129 matches at Chelsea due to injuries. He could only appear in ten league matches last season and is yet to even make a single appearance in the ongoing campaign.
